If you're trying to use Alt-Tab to switch windows in ahk, then you can use this. I use it all the time with side by side windows.

when I right click on the script icon on the desktop, there is no option to "run script". it also doesn't run when I double click on the icon and leave the file open.

That part is only the part that actually switches the windows. Here's one I use to triple click text, copy it and then run a google search on the other window.
