I use it on almost everything. If you want to catch a HIT that you just missed, you could set an autorefresher on the panda link and maybe catch it when it pops up again or someone returns it. You'd be surprised at how often that works. Or, if you're working a batch, you can set an autorefresher on the panda and work out of your queue. That keeps your queue full while you work, so when the batch dies, you'll still have 25 more HITs that you can do.

well, my train of thought was this, "A panda would automatically accept one hit from a created batch. The next time they post more of these, even if similar, it would be a different batch, and therefore a different panda. Without knowing how many hits were released (mine always seems to say 1, if it's not part of a large bath) how could I know if this would be of any use?"

A lot of times, different batches use the same Hit ID. For example Zoltar. Other times they don't. Example C-Sats.
Each batch has its own group ID. Group IDs will often stay the same each time the batch posts, especially if it's an identical HIT every time.
It wasn't condescending... there's more than one way to teach people. You can either tell them what you do, and let them mimic you... or you can teach them to think by helping them to reach their own conclusions by framing questions they have to answer for themselves. I'll refrain from teaching you anything in the future.

No. When I tried to search the requester to figure out why I wouldn't be qualified to take the qual HIT, it just came up with the screen that says "Your search did not match any HITs"

He had 10+ approved on them and they were gone in about 2 mins. I believe he said they were going to be posting more qualification batches.
You can always see the qualifications needed for a HIT in the export that gets posted, look in the last line of the post you quoted.
