I think there's a trick to it. Freshwater fish requires a lot of patience, just like Mturk. If you're willing to spend time making the fresh fish palatable, then you're in for a treat.

I fished so much as a kid. To me it's normal for fish to take some preparing, lol.

Now I'm lazy and buy fillets from the store, deboned and ready to cook!

I have not. But I'm going to google it, lol! Most of my fish is grilled or broiled or made in foil. Unless I'm making fish bites (I bread them myself then fry them up in oil. Super fattening but oh. so. good.)

Basically season catfish with seasonall or tony's put in bowl, finley chop about 1/2 cup parsley, 1/2 cup green onions, add to bowl, add to bowl one 12oz can tomato sauce and 3 tbsp white flour, mix, add to black pot, cover with water, mix, cook 30 mins. BAM

One fishing trip I caught a bunch of gafftopsail catfish despite everyone saying how nasty they were. Well... after struggling with the damned things for an eternity and cooking them... I ended up eating a nice big crow that night. Disgusting fish indeed.

Catfish is high on my list. Bread it and give it a little sauce. It's delicious.

I already have dinner in the crockpot (and it's not fish) but just found myself looking in the freezer to see if I have any fillets I can quickly thaw and broil up!

Catifsh is a scavenger creature, just like shrimp. Flavors are all about the water you catch them in and the way you cook them.

These here are known to feed on what is floating around various oil rigs.... hence why they taste like they do. I've always been told to throw those back (here in LA anyway)
