Oh it works, yes. However, I should probably qualify this by saying I don't mind the taste of burnt bread when there's cheese involved.

This made me giggle much harder than it prolly should have.

I use butter and lightly grill one side of each piece of bread. Then i put cheese on that part since its hot and then grill the outsides with butter

I do the exact same thing.
