I built my gaming PC about 3 years ago with almost no knowledge. It went pretty well, but I was pretty nervous the whole time. I did a lot of research and waited for good deals.

This is basicaly the extent of my computer smarts..

I know I need a ton of ram
an i7 is preferable
and a solid state hd is necessary for some reason
a power supply should be independent of the case
