1000 is a huge mark. A lot more work becomes available. Then you get a little more at 5k. After that it's just numbers.

I do that all the time and then regret it later when people have high $$ days (that I could've had if I wasn't scared of working on the batches lol.) It's time to find something else to work on though.

Yes and no.
A lot of HITs do have that qual but it's not going to be a land of easy money.
More profitable is the things you are doing now. Learning about the platform, etc.
