my mom was italian and my dad is cherokee. i hate filling those out. especially when they won't let me check native AND white. i usually just go with white because it is easier. *shrug*

The Cherokee are mostly white they adopted white culture and bred with white people thinning out their native blood. My great grandmother was full Cherokee on my mothers side and I have Blackfoot Indian on my dads side but I still consider myself white even though technically I'm a mix of many European races Scotch-Irish, Italian, German, English and ect. Even most African Americans who claim to be black actually have white and Native American in them from interbreeding with European races plus the Natives in America over the centuries. You can go even further back and say the Italians are not pure blood nor the Anglo Saxons thanks to the expansion of the Roman empire over the centuries... Basically we are all mutts.

The red is confusing me. HS scans a page, and then filters out w/e you have set to filter. You really shouldn't scrape more than 1 page, just adjust the amount of HITs you scan.

Side note: I'm like 50% sure HS is still inefficient and runs a scan on everything (https://www.mturk.com/mturk/findhits?match=false) when it should scan (https://www.mturk.com/mturk/findhits?match=true) if you have it set to qualified only.

It used to search https://www.mturk.com/mturk/searchbar?searchWords=&selectedSearchType=hitgroups&qualifiedFor=on for the qualified search.

See this is where I think it will generate less traffic. If scraper is searching for qualified for, and Amazon gets enough people to buy in to the quals then instead of searching say 500,000 no qual hits, that everyone qualifies for it will instead search for 470,000 no qual hits and 15,000 hits you are qualified for because you have x education or work on y device etc.

It would reduce the number of requesters that send out surveys that everyone is qualified for and therefore everyone can see.

And for the page numbers, I was just thinking that even when you don't ask HS to go past page one, the Amazon side still had to create all the additional pages that HS might have decided it wanted to look at based on the total number of hits that meet the qualified for criteria. But this is definitely something I'm guessing at.

A hard reset can generally fix a locked up phone. Usually its a combination of power/volume/home buttons pressed at the same time. Google can usually point you in the right direction.

unremoveable batteries are only a risk in so much that if the battery itself goes bad, you're kind of screwed.

I've done a hard (factory) reset on my phone a little while back and that helped a little bit, at first. But now the phone acts like it's possessed and there have been a couple of instances where I've tried to call someone and it chooses some random person out of my contact list to call. Twice I've ended up on the phone talking to someone that I had called and I was like "um, sorry, but who is this?"

I'm not a TOTAL control freak, but having a phone that locks up to where I can't do anything to reset it makes me panicky. Ok, just even writing about it makes me anxious...
Hopefully someone else in this group understands this and I'm not just coming across as a total moron!

It will only return 10/20/50/100 results per page, so there could be 1000 hits up for 2 million, it doesn't change their server load.
