I had three drug-less childbirths, and each time I reminded them that if we needed an emergency c-section, they'd better knock my ass out before they came near me with that epidural...

My wife had an epidural with all three of ours and it was a piece of cake. The nurses didn't tell her she had a button to distribute the medicine on the second one so while she had it in place there was no medication being fed through it, and the third one progressed so quickly after a certain point that she didn't really use it for him either.
