I didn't even notice that until you mentioned it. Mayhaps we can get @Kadauchi up in here. I know he is planning on releasing the full version soon so I think he would like some feedback. Hopefully he doesn't kill me.

I think it's a cost of doing business here. I think at some point the old site will be retired entirely. Until then, converting to old URL's in places will be a patch at best. It'd be better to support both, instead of trying to standardize it to one. That way if they suddenly turn it off, we don't need to wait until scripters can change their stuff to use the scripts.
