To be fair, pointing them in the direction opens a wealth of information for them to go through. Showing them WHERE the guides are is better than just parroting the info imo.

If people want to interpret leading them toward the guides a passive agressive that that's the helpee's problem, not the helper's. I am one who thinks that a quick answer with a point toward a full explanation is a great way to be helpful without handholding.
