"so i'm in the state store"

See now I thought that was something that specific to Texas.
They have the weirdest laws there, if you aren't a state sanctioned store you can't sell hard stuff inside the store.....so they all have drive-thrus.

God bless California where shit makes sense.
Buy alcohol wherever, whenever......except 2am-6am.

Which encouraged us all to do double the speed limit to get to the store on time.
I'm a fan of Boston's method: last call is 2am, public transport stops at 1am, good luck out there!

also blue laws, thanks puritans

You can't buy alcohol at any time of the day?

TX still had dry areas when I lived there. But they have this wonderful store called Specs that I dearly miss. You could get everything there from imported food to every kind of liquor.

Not sure if serious but most states have stupid laws against it.

If the forefathers of our country knew about this they would roll over in their graves while writing the constitution and being hypocrites.

That was the worst. I pretty much refused to go anywhere that wasn't within walking distance of my apartment because I was too cheap to pay for cabs.

And if you're under a certain age, they won't take your out of state id at certain places (TD Garden, Six Flags, etc.) Such nonsense, Massachusetts.

I've only tried to by booze here in NV, so I dunno about the other state's shitty laws.

It took an Applebees threatening to leave my small hometown to convince the county to change its stupid dry laws. Thank you Applebees

Austinite here. The closest Specs took over an old Academy building to give people an idea of their size. The last remnant of the Blue Law still holds here. Liquor is not sold on Sundays which is why all liquor stores are closed then. It's not worth it to stay open to just sell beer and wine.
