This is the kind of places I slept when I was hiking the AT. Don't want to roll in your sleep here. Problem with this location was a storm came in during the night. While it was an awesome light show to watch it come in, the rain came straight up that ridge in blew in under my fly.

Or you're going to have to set an alarm to go off every 2-3 hours to keep it going. Or not sleep. We've been heating with wood for 4 winters now. I kinda hate it. I'm the one that stays up with it all night. It's like having a newborn again. Well, at least fires don't scream... So there's that.
From what I've read, folks used to getting up in the middle of the night................
Their plan to live in CA did work for awhile (I think they were out there for two years living in the RV before he died). I think those years were really important: they loved their daughter and wanted to be near her and their grandchildren.
I was trying to be funny (and I'm not very good at that in writing). So, it didn't happen overnight in that their adventure lasted a few years. But the accident did happen during the night.
So, I guess I shouldn't tell the story of my 90 year old uncle on a treadmill for the first time.........
(In this case, he did survive.............after an ambulance ride and trip to the ER).
I heat with wood and don't have to get up. Load that puppy up, damper it down and can get a good 8 hour burn or more.
