A few people have gotten rejections. It does take around 45 minutes to an hour. Just be careful and you should be fine. It isn't bad.

I'm not really sure if this counts as being employed or not.

Turking counts as self-employment, so I always mark that. If it asks for you to be "employed full time" (or similar) though, that usually rules mTurk out unless it specifices self employment is fine.
