EDIT: Just received an update from Dr. Fischer: "I understand your frustration. We will do our best to address the issue. However, when we went to retrieve the data, it was blank. There is no data for the answers that you placed although I am seeing you filled it out. We will work to reverse your rejection. There is no need to contact the University of Pennsylvania IRB system. We will figure out what went wrong but despite this we do thank you for your time and consideration. Please be patient with us and trust that your issue will be solved. I just edited it since it hadn't been a full three days. Approved! And yes as long as it isn't a rejection I'm just happy to get my $50.

As strange as it is. I hate buying IT course books. One of my professors this past semester had an whole entire course material rechange, and if I hadn't been paying attention to her updates on the syllabus, I would have wasted so much money. I found the book used for like $6 on amazon. Compared to what they wanted me to pay on campus. I was so, so happy.

My biggest fear is shelling out a lot of cash for a book and then a month later, a new version comes out that your instructor forces you to get. Given how technology evolves so fast, surely I'm not alone in that worry.

You have noticed how most rich people stay fairly healthy looking right? Part of that has to do with personal trainers and stuff like that.

I wouldn't worry. I haven't had it happen to me yet. Besides, I would totally complain if they did that. A lot of people don't have an extra $200+ lying around to toss on books in the middle of the semester.

Are you implying that colleges care if their students can afford the books?

$1000 worth of books for a 18 week class says otherwise.
