That and health care when you're poor sucks.
That's why mine is fucked- seven years of being REALLY sick and not treating it... now it's gonna take that long, if not more to treat....
Hell, I don't even eat out.... maybe once every 2.5 years...
I work at Braums, and food comes out of my check. So I make sure my peeps have stuff to eat while I'm not home, and I try to spend as little money as possible on food to keep myself from falling over while I'm at work. Sometimes I splurge on a salad, but I split it into two meals and drink water the rest of the day.

Randomacts @Randomacts My seven year old daughter negates any prep time I have. lol I get your point though. Hell, most days I just don't eat while I am working due to my lack of choices. My point is that it is not always option for some people to eat healthy.

Hi all! Having been a busy working mother, it can be tough. I make no judgments but will offer a few things I know about. Many states allow those on food stamps to buy double fruits and vegetables at farmers markets and stores. 15 will get you 30. We also have a co-op where we all grocery shop and then once a month for 4 hours, we cook and freeze meals and have 3 to 4 ready to eat meals a weeks that are quick and nutritious. It saves money also since we buy in bulk. Just a few suggestions but I do know how hard it can be since I am a bit of a chunky monkey myself.
That's amazing. I enjoy buying healthier foods when it is possible. But for the majority of the time I also stick to the basics foods that I can easily get my hands on, and get creative. You know, Spinach, apples, bananas, etc. Organic when possible, but at the end of the day I do my best with what I have. It's not to knock fast food, or eating out in general. But my dilemma is -and I say this all the time when I'm eating out- It started in someone's kitchen, so why can't I make it too? So when I do have time and energy I like to cook and plan my own meals. Find cheap ways to make healthy dishes.

Do you ever watch Brothers Green Eats? I love their series of $3 a day.

Yes I have. I am a strong believer in working as a community. Spending what free time I have at the community garden and living as environmentally friendly as I can. It is not for everyone and I do not presume to think everyone wants that but I believe knowledge even if not able to be used at the moment may help someone down the road. Your life circumstances can and will change with time but knowledge is always yours to keep and nobody can take that away.
