So am I understanding right that everyone who has tried to use a Suri code it has said expired? Because I could give up some of mine (I got an email with access to HIT) but I'd just as soon do them myself if they won't even work for whoever gets the code.

No, they work. It just depends on how many workers are using them at the same time.

each code is limited to 50 i believe.

and while I believe that a good religious education is important I'm paying for her to learn life skills. We decided that for the $200/month we pay the school we can buy her workbooks,

The monster's homeschooling only costs about $400 a YEAR so if you have her in social stuff somewhere else i would drop the school. (I mean that's what I would do, different situations call for different stuff of course, but it doesn't sound like you're getting your money's worth out of that.)
