I'm just being honest here, if my parents tried to police my schooling I would of found a new place to live. I was also a rebellious kid and in high school I already knew going straight to a 4 year was a waste of money. At the same time I am a 24-year old who just started college because my parents couldn't help me pay for school and I had to wait till I could have financial aid based on my own income. I failed two years of high school and went to a continuation school and graduated 6 months early...
Oh, he's used to it. He went to a parent participation grammar school and is used to parents around all the time.

I wish my parents had policed my schooling. Would have been nice for them to show interest!

all kids are different, though. If he had reacted badly to me doing this I would choose a different parenting style. He doesn't mind it, and we have discussed it.

That's good my parents very much treated me like an adult from a young age and expected me to just do everything on my own. I'm thankful for it.

obviously you don't understand how G.P.A works. My dad knew the exact day report cards came out, and had pulled every trick I tried his own self. that old man was great, now that I'm older and understand what he was trying for...
I know how gpa works >.>

They just didn't have that on the print outs.

You mean your dad was old like you? :o

I was going to echo your post earlier to me about it getting dark quick, but I felt bad.

survive?

and yeah i skipped a full day of school aside from my first and second hours in HS a few times, my first/second hours were a block photography class. many times i would come to school and sleep part of the day, do prints the rest
I skipped school one day, then was supposed to go on a field trip the next. Only they wouldn't let me go on the trip because I skipped the day before...and I didn't wanna, so I spent the entire day in the newspaper room, and only went outside to hang out with my friends at lunch. I coulda gone home because we literally lived next to the school, but my bio "dad" was home until 2 pm..so I had to hide out.

Speaking of grades and parenting...

They have these awesome apps us parents can use to keep track of how our kids are doing. Teachers update them at least weekly if not more often.

Just saw my kid's English grade drop because he got an F on an assignment that is "missing".

Wrath of mom incoming. He's expecting it because I already texted him a screenshot of the big fat F grade.

Poor kids today. Can't get away with much. I'm looking forward to whatever excuse he can think up before I get home.
by the time i was in middle school they had online report card viewing, which my mom never made use of. but when they started including updates by assignment i'd take advantage of checking it so i could call out when teachers made mistakes for assignments i turned in or they misgraded
