That is so awful. What a terrible time to be there.

I was in Shanghai the day the man stood in front of the tanks - we watched it on CNN in our hotel room. It was the day we arrived in China and we left two days later when the consulate was able to arrange flights for us. I will never forget the crush at the airport or the burning buses blocking the streets. It was a scary time, but the Chinese people were wonderful to us.

I am finally returning to China next month to see all the things we did not get to see the first time around. Really looking forward to it.
