I was not offended at all by what Squatty said. However, I didn't realize the pay was so low. It's hard to be united as a unified force when everyone is separated by different forums.
I don't know how hard it will be to get one-three representatives from each forum to work together. I've been in a few organizations. The hardest thing is getting everyone on board and pushing towards a common goal. However, it is for the
GOAL of the PEOPLE and NOT FOR THE INDIVIDUAL.
The pay is shitty, but I doubt a boycott would work given the vastly different types of people that turk and the number of people turking. Some people might even prefer it this way since it means people are doing shitty hits and leaving the good stuff alone.
This is not a big of an issue (some may think) as voting for equal rights, being recognized as a person, etc. However, you can't please
EVERYONE. You do the
BEST YOU CAN. It doesn't seem fair to complain about
SHITTY pay when
ONE doesn't do anything to push away from it. Boycotting is
EFFECTIVE. Working together is the
KEY here. If the
Black Panthers,
UFW,
Brown Berets didn't do anything for their people, then things wouldn't be different. However,
EVERYONE has their own
PRIORITIES. I hope that you didn't take this statement as an attack. This statement is to show you that sometimes WORKING TOGETHER can make a difference.
ex. I attended a school that was the only CAL STATE in California to take 4 more GE classes than any other. Tell me why over 30 student organizations spent their VALUABLE time and worked together. We are talking about meetings that took place from 7:00AM to other meetings taking around 7:30PM. The common GOAL of the organizations was to reduce/eliminate the taking of extra GE classes (and present the idea to the University Board.) When the University, Student Representatives, University President voted, they determined to reduce it to 1-2 GE classes. I was graduating. Their was no need for me to to participate. I did participate because, my actions would change the future and help future students graduate early by not taking those 4 GE classes.
