The best way to test scripts is to use JSFiddle.net
That way you don't have to worry about breaking anything.

Here is what it looks like.
Log in or register now. to view Spoiler content!
You put the source code from the hit into the top left box and hit run, and the hit will show up in the bottom right corner.
You add any script you are working on to the bottom left corner and hit Run again and then see if the script is working in the hit.
It works great. (Just make sure you turn on Jquery in the options if you are using it)

Oh thanks, looks a lot better than what I was using. I'm pretty sure I was kidding about breaking things, but I'm also bad at predicting just what I can manage.
I once was trying to mod my son's pps battery and it started smoking, I had to throw it out in the snow and order a new one. He was not happy.
