I am almost wondering if we (traffic overload) are breaking the PFAs? In my limited and n00b experience, it seemed to me that when there was other work available, PFAs were fine. Now that work is scarce, we are all descending on them like vultures.

Complete hypothesis though and I am more than likely wrong.

That's the case for 99% of hits on mturk

Their server is why the HITs are breaking for you guys, so this is more than likely the case.
