Good merninoon, folks! I find today's thread title humorous as heck. I was attacked by a curb yesterday morning, in front of a large group of workers that are fixing the parking lot. My ankle's sprained pretty badly and tore a muscle in my leg, so I'm hobbling around like an old lady, with my roommate making jokes about buying me a walker. The good thing is that the workers were really helpful (even as they laughed with me at myself) and I have plenty of self-deprecating humor, ibuprofen, and KT Tape (which is AMAZING) to get me through. Anyhoo, I'll stop rambling. Good luck out there today!

I hope your ankle heals up quickly! Two years ago while I was taking down Christmas lights outside I massacred my ankle by slipping off my porch, then landing on the edge of my walkway and turning my foot flat on its side while my leg was still straight up. That sucker took forever to heal (the docs said I would have been better off breaking it, but I only "sprained" it in the worst way possible.)

Unlike that penguin I could not get up and walk away, and was still sitting on the walkway waiting for the nausea from the pain to pass when a substitute mailman came up and asked me if I was ok and if he needed to go get me help. I was all, no, I'm good. I'm like 12 feet from my front door and my phone is here in my pocket. Go ahead with your route!

Funny thing is, the very next year when I was taking down Christmas lights and that same substitute mailman walked up to give me my mail and teased me about meeting me there the previous year.

And animals! Sure, they look all fuzzy and innocent and sweet, but it's no coincidence that they are always underfoot. Especially cats. I used to have a kitty named Squiggy (Madame Squigglesworth III, officially) that would run up behind me and wrap herself around my ankle like she was trying to take down a gazelle, but only if I was carrying something heavy. Definitely attempted murder.

Oh, ouch! That sounds like a really bad sprain. Did it end up healing up okay and everything?
