I'd spend $200 on my dog, he's my friend. That's why I'm buying him a graphics card this month, he can't play videogames for shit though so I'm just gonna use it in the meantime.
that's very generous! I'm sure he'll enjoy watching. My cat does, and makes sure to stand right in front of the TV blocking as much as possible.

Title is really making me feel guilty... no matter how hard I try I can't be an African American who is 21 years or older :(

I can't even imagine having a friend so good I'd spend $200 on them. But I'm cheap and I hate people, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Well, I hate getting presents when it's really hard to think of what they want. Aka getting them stuff because I "have" to. That's why I only spent $5 on my infant niece, she's not going to remember any of this! and my parents are always a pain in the butt to shop for, because they have everything they want already.

but my friend is a musician just like me, and I already know all the gear he has and all the gear he wants, plus I work for a music retail company, so I get huge discounts on everything. So he is really fun to shop for, and genuinely appreciates and uses everything I get him. That's why I don't mind spending money on him, but I hate spending money on everyone else. Even if they're super excited about the gift, they usually end up not using it after a month or two. so I feel like my money was wasted.

I came home one day and my girlfriends cat was going through my email and had somehow turned on 'text to speech'. Pretty sure my girlfriend put him up to it.

that is creepy

I have a job outside of this but my student loans are so high that almost all that money goes towards that. I have a separate bank account that the paychecks get direct deposited into, and the student loan payments are auto-withdrawn from that account. Anything that is leftover just stays in the account as my emergency fund. All other stuff -- birthday/christmas money, money from baby/pet/housesitting and teaching guitar, money I make online, gets deposited into another bank account that I use to pay my credit card bills (food, doctor visits, gas, fun money, presents, etc).

The thing that sucks about my birthday being 16 days before Christmas is that my birthday money almost always goes towards buying Christmas presents! But I do like seeing all the kids so excited about their presents, so that in itself is a present to me. :)
I know this probably has crossed you mind, but just curious, do you get the payment lowered based on income? Or just would rather get it paid? My daughter has a ridiculous payment, like $1000 or $1200 a month, because part was loaned directly from the school on top of government loans. But she makes a ridiculous amount also, so that helps. Then there's the 2,800 month apartment. I just cannot relate to these numbers.

I don't know why but this just cracks me up, the way it's worded. Ok, I'll try my hardest.

Confession: So this title makes me giggle. Reminds me of my first week of turking, brand spanking new, and I saw a title very similar "Please identify as a Gay Man". I laughed, told my husband, clicked accept and completed the HIT.

I thought that they were asking me to IDENTIFY as a gay man and take the survey. Then I found MTC and realized how wrong I was. My naïveté still makes me laugh to this day

Shit just remembered I forgot to send my mom something.
Terrible person.
What makes her such a terrible person? She make you eat your brussels sprouts once too many?

So, my 13 year old nephew asked a mall Santa for a pair of nun-chucks for Christmas.

We're expecting great things from him from here out.

for clarity: there was no one in line and he was doing it as a joke, but still...
