Oh wow. I won a magazine subscription, not just any grocery store mag but a craft mag that costs like $15 per issue at Joanne's. Didn't even know I was entered in anything but I got this email that said all I had to do was claim it. I emailed the company from the email address that I get their emails through, it was different from this and asked if this was real or had I been spammed. She wrote back and said it's real. Others hadn't claimed the prize so they keep emailing people I guess until someone answers. And there's a list of all those craft mags to choose from and I always hesitate at the store when I want to buy one cause they are expensive so I picked the one I want and emailed her back. Yeah, something to look forward too.

Thanks for the support! I heard from my husband one time that people were doing some survey on mturk and then at the end they got a note saying something like "Sorry there is no money left to pay you but thanks for the info from your survey!" and i think it was like a .50 survey or something and noone got paid. How can they do that! we may be "independent contractors" but it is still a job where we do work for someone and expect to be paid. They need to regulate this more i swear! I wanted to put that requesters name on here to warn anyone else about him but i think that might be against the rules, im not sure.
The problem is Amazon doesn't care about you the worker, in that example they got paid, the researcher got their data and you are 100% replaceable with any homeless person who has wi-fi.

Section 3 subsection F even states: Disputes between Requesters and Providers. Your use of the Site is at your own risk. Because Amazon Mechanical Turk is not involved in the actual transaction between Providers and Requesters, Amazon Mechanical Turk will not be involved in resolving any disputes between participants related to or arising out of the Services or any transaction. aka go fuck yourself, its shady and it sucks.

The best we have is Turkopticon and that isn't going to change because Amazon wants nothing to do with helping its workers.

No, it's not against the rules to warn about shady requesters. Also leave a TO for non-forum people.
well in that case:
"Ethan Davidoff Add SIC and NAICS codes to a list of 5,672 companies $175.00 Rejected
You didn't submit any results"
and here is the other one that wont even respond to me after i sent pictures proving i did show up ontime and completed his hit:
"UR HCI $10-$20.00 to Play an Online Communication Game with Firefox Friday 1:00pm EST for a Research Study $10.00 Rejected
You did not show up at friday 1pm, 23rd December, 2016"
Watch out guys these requesters are definitely shady, i mean you cant really deny pictures that prove i did it so im guessing thats why they wont even respond to me. See mturk should have a way you can dispute something like that where you have pictures or something that could without a doubt prove you competed it and were still rejected.
