I have received two things that I did not order, but clearly had my name and address on them. Even calling Amazon resulted in never figuring it out and me getting to keep the items. Both were from unmarked Amazon delivery vehicles and I've been so confused!

Anything Amazon incorrectly delivers to you, you get to keep. They make so much money, the hassle of returning it isn't worth it for them. This has resulted in people getting some pretty amazing things they never had to pay for. We got a good, expensive router one time because of it. I always hope for those happy accidents.

I have all my orders shipped to my work address, so if something shows up at my house it was sent as a gift or from the mystery void. The best thing I got was a coffee grinder, lol. I ended up giving it away as I already had one I loved.

same gig for hotels if you're a housekeeper. if people leave their stuff behind after a certain wait period and they dont claim it. it's yours. like if you get the chance to work in a hotels athletes use. NBA players will buy playstations or xboxs just for that one road trip, play them and leave them in the room.

When I was a housekeeper at a super low budget chain hotel I walked into a room and there was a Hitler beach towel. A legit, Third Reich beach towel. I was kinda annoyed they didn't leave it behind, had a whole burning ceremony planned

Oh nice sounds like they're taking it more seriously now. We usually get delivery vans of varying shapes/sizes with amazon magnets hastily slapped on.

with Prime and FBA they need to be taking it lot more serious

I used to work for a direct marketing company. Our sales people were shady. I was in customer service. We had to try and convince people to return things that were sent without being ordered. By law, you are under no obligation to return something that was sent to you in error. It can sometimes expedite a refund but, they can't make you pay for it. I always try to let people know that, now that I know. Saves a lot of people a bit of grief.
