They get sold for like $20 on craigslist a lot. I guess they use it to fake a pregnancy so some dude won't leave them, then conveniently "lose" the baby.

When my marriage was ending, I was in such a panic, I probably would have tried the fake pregnancy trick if I could have gotten away with it.

I honestly didn't know it was a thing, but I'm not going to be a Judgey Judgerson, because we've all done..interesting things in the name of love. Both of these things hurt my heart though, to see people in that desperate of a situation, grasping to hold onto something so important to them.

Thegross_1, I am sorry that things got that difficult for you, and truly hope that things are better and you're in a better place now. Like I said, I'm not going to judge, and I honestly thank you for helping provide me with perspective on why someone would do that.
