Welp...I just failed clipping my cats claws lol.

roll the cat up in a towel or blanket, pretty tight like
like how sometimes you did it as a kid, and it made you kinda claustrophobic.
but make sure not to cover their faces, but do roll their necks so they can't really move their faces
like a taquito, or a cigar
place blanket on lap with cat lying on it's back.
you can pull out one leg at a time, and the cat won't be able to do much at all
I used to use this method to physically place pills in the mouths of feral cats,
back when I assisted my daughter's mom with her cat rescue

I'll try the towel thing right now. He is a very loving cat but goes into freak out mode once I clip that first claw. He clawed me up good this morning.

I am sure you already know this but make sure you don't go to far up on the nail or they will have big trust issues with you cutting the nails even worse than now

it will sometimes be hard to catch him in the future
but as long as you don't lose your calm, it will only get easier
cats love to be groomed, they just don't realize that nail clipping is grooming

btw, what type of fabric is your cat scratch pad/post?

I am sure you already know this but make sure you don't go to far up on the nail or they will have big trust issues with you cutting the nails even worse than now

it's a good idea to keep some corn flower on hand, if you don't have coagulant
the pain isn't terrible, but unlike a dog, cats do need more of the nail.
you're only supposed to cut off the point

I have one scratcher made of some kind of emery board I think. The other is looks like some kind of carpet material.
