Got into a heated debate with someone (I don't know why it needed to be heated, or even a debate) about the size of europe vs the size of america (I was saying the US had more land mass than the EU)

To which he replied 'Wow, you are weapons grade stupid' and a slew of other insults.

And then I just showed him the figures. He was wrong, and then he still kept calling me stupid.

I don't know why people get so heated about things that are so inconsequential.

Human instinct drives us to want to be dominant - i.e. always right, forcing our beliefs upon others, etc. It is what will doom us, eventually.

Nah, I was making the argument that the US is as large and as diverse as all of Europe, so you can't make accurate statements about all of the US by news that comes out of Alabama and Florida.
