But if we weren't selected for the actual HIT does that mean we really "took it" and can't repeat?I wouldn't. It says please don't repeat.

Submitting is considered completing the HIT, regardless of the actual work completed. I think. But if we weren't selected for the actual HIT does that mean we really "took it" and can't repeat?

I have a question about "Telling others where to find a completion code". That one seems a bit weird. I've seen people say like "I didn't see a code" and someone say it was on the page before the final one, or whatever. I'm not really sure if that's what's meant, or how that's harmful. In case anyone needs a refresher this morning: http://www.mturkcrowd.com/threads/what-is-survey-content.1791/
I missed this whole conversation but I hope someone asked this requester to move the screening questions to the beginning of the survey instead of the end. a lot of surveys don't let someone go back to change their answers even if they reopen the survey from the mturk link. instead the survey starts where they left off. this requester might not know those things and might change the survey if people ask them.Yeah, i messaged him about that. Here is his reply...
It is clearly stated in the cover letter that screening questions were being used to get a certain sample demographic. Simply stating the sample I am looking for is not sufficient when collecting data online....people are not honest with their responses and then I end up paying for bad data. The qualification test was a single item about beverage preferences. You were not forced to take the survey and could have simply closed the HIT after seeing that screening questions were being implemented. Screening questions are very commonplace in Mturk surveys, but feel free to avoid any survey that includes them in the future. Enjoy the weekend,

Some requesters in the past have used completion code locations as ACs. As in, they put it in an unusual spot and count that as an attention check.I have a question about "Telling others where to find a completion code". That one seems a bit weird. I find it's usually not helpful to tell people where it was because they've already missed it anyway. I just say, "I got one."I have a question about "Telling others where to find a completion code". really annoying. unless the survey was where's waldoSome requesters in the past have used completion code locations as ACs. As in, they put it in an unusual spot and count that as an attention check.
I agree. It is annoying. Fortunately, requesters don't do that too often.really annoying. unless the survey was where's waldo

You're right. They're both Civil War vets.
