When I was a kid I use to always go to games to meet the players. the astrodome was really, really lax on security and encouraged it. especially if you were a kid. The giants were in town for the end of the season. 3 day and 3 games. Got to meet the whole team pretty much. On the second to last night, I spotted Barry. kids surrounded him and he was signing. Barry was a hero to me. I get up to him and it was my turn. Barry looked me dead in the eye and said sorry kid. I dont sign for white people. Oh no! That is AWFUL! I think he would have made it to the Hall of Fame without the steroids so I think he should be in there but this just knocked my opinion down of him just a bit. Regardless of skin color, he could have made a positive or negative impression on your life forever and he chose to do the later. It is HORRIBLE to know an adult would do that to a child.
