I messaged the requester about this error but the time was running out so I had to return the HIT. She said it was an error and she has now fixed it, but I had already returned the HIT I didn't get to work on it until there was like 20 minutes left and the error slowed me down a bunch since I thought I did something wrong. Oh well.

yeah, I did the standard submit with mturk ID and send email. Wouldn't normally bother but dang, I sank like 6-7 minutes into that HIT.

I don't know how you do it. Depending on MTurk to pay the bills would be so stressful for me. You never know if you going to make $200 that day or $20.

I have motivation from the manimal who works next to me...he literally won't let me give up on a hard day.

But some days, $20-30 is all that happens, no matter how hard I try. If there are no batches and the surveys are low, there isn't much I can do but take my $20 and try again the next day.

It sucks, but it is what it is.

Related to 60% of days being bad (below "goal") on mturk, and the randomness of mturk daily earnings, here's a frequency chart of daily earnings:

It averages out in the end, but each individual day is expected to be bad, so not a great feeling sometimes.
