Wow...I don't know if I am just moving slow today, but this thing had so many bubbles, inquisit, and took me over an hour.

It took me a while too but nowhere near an hour.. maybe 35 mins.

Is that why it always shows up as GBP in my account and I can't spend it until I transfer it to USD? It's always been that way... I was thinking about seeing if there was a way to change it, but now not so much. I think I'll leave it the way it is instead of risking a fee. Doesn't take too much and it's instant when you ask to convert it.

The fee is like 30 cents. And yeah, I think so. I noticed the change when I said it was okay to establish a GBP balance.

There's only a fee if you don't set up a balance in GBP. There IS a fee if you transfer directly to USD for some reason, but not if you set up the GBP balance...it was nice to find out.

and paypal's conversion isn't right either - you can tell there's a bit of a fee in that, too

Mine is a business account if that helps. I don't get charged a fee, but it transfers as GPB and you have to go into the Paypal site and ask for it to be converted to USD after it shows up before you can spend it.

Well I just got lucky.

I mentioned yesterday someone had thrown apples at my back window and shattered two panes of glass. Which I need to get fixed, obviously, and that costs money.

A contractor we have used in the past just stopped by hoping we have work for him and offered to go fix my glass for me. Not sure how much it will cost, but this will be the cheapest I can possibly get it done.

Phew! I was wondering where I was supposed to get the money to fix the windows this month (how much I would have to turk), or if they were just going to remain taped up until next month!

Yeah, they have a lower overall conversion rate than the market cus they're assholes. But I can live with that, mostly.

I have a business account, I don't know what the difference is.
I know that my monthly interest earnings is apparently not that common
the account has no fees, which is apparently not that common either

Same with me... My account has been open as a business account since 1999. Maybe we have similar accounts and were just grandfathered in somehow?

They have an external fee they'll tell you about to directly accept GBP to USD, and THEN they hit you with a lower conversion rate on top of it.
