Well there is a rumor that some of the so called rice we eat is a manufacture of some sort of plastic, rice cakes come to mind. The rice and the magic eraser of probably of the same material.

Good old baking soda and hot water does wonders for a stove when your'e in a pinch

It's actually a great way to clean an oven, too. Sprinkle baking soda all over and on stains, spray with a water bottle to moisten, heat oven to lowest setting and let it cook for a couple of hours, spraying baking soda to keep it moist until done. Most of the ickies will wash right off.
