Yep, In the past I competed in a few bodybuilding shows in my local area and if you let everybody else in the bodybuilding world tell it, your supposed to eat six small protein meals a day to build muscle or maintain muscle and I followed that plan for a few years until I came up on a daily fasting diet. I tried a fasting diet 3 months out for preparing for a show and i didn't lose any muscle. The key is eating the meal right after lifting weights if your into weight lifting, the insulin spike sends the calories straight to your muscle tissue because your muscles are starving for nutrients after a semi fast. I do cardio when I wake up in the morning on a empty stomach in which gets the fat burning process thru out the day started.yeah a lot of people think it'll screw up the metabolism and end up burning muscle instead but nah your body will go for the fat reserves first its easier. Another reason why i like it when i break my fast with a protein shake that insulin spike is really good for sending nutrients straight to the muscle. Its going to happen to anyway in the morning if you're not fasting just 'cause of the heightened cortisol levels in the morning so I might as well take advantage of it
