It is true. You don't get a regular 1099-misc and people who pay people through a third party does NOT need to give out a 1099-Misc. Look it up. What you get for 20K is a 1099-K which is specifically for 3rd party payers.

Did you or he state anywhere in the post about misc or K? Both posts just said 1099, which it is easy to infer that in this context 1099-K is meant since that is what Amazon Payments sends. So you statement that you do not get a 1099 remains false.

I didn't claim to know everything, I was just helping to curb the spread of misinformation. You could have responded to him with you don't get a 1099-misc but you do get a 1099-k, but you chose to be vague and only clarified after the fact.
