That double negative is really off putting, not that I'm a grammar rock star or anything. Unknown needs help... they don't want to play the game of being better than anyone, and then immediately say they want to be better than the person they were yesterday... which ultimately supports the double negated first statement that they are indeed in competition with people...

I respectfully disagree. A little healthy competition is what motivates me to earn more money. When I first joined an mturk forum, I thought 4.00 an hour was great for working at home


until I learned people made 6.00 an hour

then I learned people made 10.00 an hour

and 15.00 an hour

and each time I saw someone making more money, I upped my standards... and now I'm able to make a living working online.

Preferences, yo. Remember that scale in some surveys asking if competition motivates you or discourages you? Whether or not competition is motivating or not is waaaay different for different people.
