did some digging out of curiosity
"hi there! it definitely does not require purchase - it's completely free (tip and delivery included). #loveyou"

so drivers probably love this because a bunch of them are getting doubled tipped
There was no tip listed on my receipt, just a delivery charge (which drivers don't get to keep). Even if there was, my guess is that it was a percentage of the total which is inadequate when it's being brought to my house, IMO. :)

You mean like if you're in Amazon.com trying to buy something? Amazon Payments isn't a choice to pay with?
Yeah. On the check out page it normally has that "Use your Amazon Payments Balance" check box, but it's not there.

I just tested it out. First, I put a thing in my cart and tried to check out with $0.00 in my Amazon Payments account. The checkbox wasn't there. Then I went to MTurk and transferred my money to Amazon Payments (a whole $11.32). Then I went back to my cart and tried to check out again and it showed the checkbox with $11.32. Are you sure you have dollars in your Amazon Payments right now?

That whole "use your amazon payments" thing is relatively new, isn't it? I just noticed it for the first time a few weeks ago.

So I learned this at Christmas...certain items cannot be paid for using that option. I could not figure out why certain items would not take this as a payment method (except gift cards I know they don't allow it for those, but I still think even that is stupid since it's flat out cash).

But, you know, Amazon. shrug.

Got it figured out. Called Amazon real quick, apparently you can't use your payments for digital content. Which makes no sense but at least it's not like they're just taking the option away or something.

Oh, good! Well, not good that you can't use it but good that it got clarified and it's not MTurk screwing with us or anything.

Apparently I need an attention check for ordering from the company store. :p
I only discovered it when it defaulted to that option and didn't charge my credit card. I couldn't figure out wtf was going on for a bit. That check box is so damn tiny!

If you transfer it to a gift card you can use it for digital content. I tested that out and it worked! (I bought a ton of stuff over the holidays...)

You'd think Amazon would make it easier for us to spend the money they give us on their website!
