You and I have similar memories, because that sounds about right. Taco Mayo's okay, but in the same way that a tater tot dropped on the floor and then eaten is okay. It was good when I was little, but I was really big on floor tots back then, so my opinion can't be trusted.

Yer face is Oklahoma!

Would be cool if yer face actually was in Oklahoma though, because then we could hang out.

Haha, no worries. Plaza popped out of nowhere because it used to be nowhere...unless you were looking to get stabbed or buy crack. They're really building up Plaza, Midtown, and Uptown lately (otherwise known as parts of towns that formerly had no fancy names) and it looks nice, even though I have mixed feelings about the gentrification issues that I won't go into. My friend tried to get me to go to that shipping container bar, but I left Bricktown in my 20s and prefer dive bars these days.

Next time you're in OKC, we should meet up for a cocktail at the Sidecar or drag show at Hi-Lo or something. The only Okie turker I know that's still around is leftfield @leftfield and he's all, "Stop looking for me, Minky!" and probably won't ever meet up. I think it would be cool to meet a turker irl.
Drag show at a dive bar? I'm so down.

Also, Waffle Champion:

Also, this doesn't fit into eating healthy.
Note to self: watch snake vids to learn how to disengage jaw before visiting Waffle Champion..

Word. We could hit the Boom where the shows get fancy, but Hi-Lo has a special place in my heart and is divey as it gets. Definitely put the Sunday Gospel Brunch at the Boom on your bucket list for a future trip, though. It's amazeballs.
I hated taco mayo every time I had it, but I loved taco bueno (and casa bonita before it went to crap).

Oh god I miss Bueno :cliff:
OMG Casa Bonita!!! I LOVED going there and to Crystal's as a kiddo. If you and CJ come visit, you can have all of the Bueno you can eat!

Wait, like the Casa Bonita in Denver that serves you food from a hole in the wall?
Maybe? If I remember it right, that's how it was there. They gave us trays and we would choose themed rooms. There was a little flag thingie on the table, and you could put that up and they'd bring you more of whatever you wanted, and sopapillas with honey for dessert. There was also an arcade room.
I know there were a few others, but I'm not sure where.

I wish I had some waffle champion to send you. All I got is string cheese and some questionable fruit. I can send you that.
Very kind offer, LlamaRhama @LlamaRhama [ insert whatever emoticon has a tear sliding down from one eye ], but I'm not looking for what I'm sure is a good home-made meal, such as you offered [ :) ], but something manufactured en mass. Again, thank you for the kind offer, young lady.

Yea, and the flying trapeze artists and a cave. The food is crap, but the experience is great.

Floor tots :yuck: That accurately describes their tacos.

I'll be honest...I don't have good memories of Oklahoma. I was homeless and living in an armory in sapulpa for a while before living in Tulsa with an evil, horrible woman who I just can't even come close to describing. Also, both my ex's were from Oklahoma.

But I'd make a visit exception for you  If I didn't have a panic attack as soon as I crossed the state line :aikon3:

I just took a look at the armory. Looks dreary, but when you've not got a home, any place is better than no place. I guess.

:D this is my fav place! why are you guys talking about casa bonita!?? I saw mecklenberg, a 'bronco' eating a couple tables from me once. this probably doesn't have anything to do with anything, i just thought it was kind of cool.
