Don't know if it's anywhere in that area, but years and years ago I was taking the Greyhound from Vegas to St. Louis, and woke up one morning heading in to Grand Junction. It still sits with me as maybe the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. That whole mountain-ish area along the highway, and how the sunrise hit it.

Btw if you haven't been before/recently, there's a little mercantile type place a little bit before the Ranger station where you pay. They have these sweet sandboards you can rent for $20 for the whole day and they're sooooo much fun

It's the other side of the state from me, though I have a brother there that was supposed to be near me today for a kid's soccer tournament, and was bringing me elk meat. stupid snow.
