I misspoke a bit saying post data via JQuery, because that could lead you to Ajax, which isn't really for this purpose. You would want to use postmessage. Here's a pretty good resource on it. Basically you can pass data from one window to another

You can use Tampermonkey change listeners to pass the message

yeah, I've looked into that a bit in the past, but that comes with the downside of writing scripts that are bound to the use of the UserManager's API.
I don't like writing browser specific code, personally, but that's just how I learned to program.

also that page showed me Tampermonkey is taking shots at Greasemonkey with that typo

yeah, I've looked into that a bit in the past, but that comes with the downside of writing scripts that are bound to the use of the UserManager's API.

I only learned how to code and use coding for scripts for hits, so I don't worry about the Browser specificity
