Don't anthropomorphize. I used to do that as a kid and thought my stuffed animals were sad if they didn't get to sleep with me. I ended up sleeping with all of them every night so none of them would feel bad I and could barely move around. I didn't even really like stuffed animals.

I hope you learned something from that story.
