That's impressive. I've never really liked meat that much so I've been a vegetarian for most of my life. I don't know if I have the dedication to go vegan though. I do love my dairy. How's it working for you?

It was a little bit of a shock in the beginning because I like dairy a lot too and there're sooooo many things made with milk or eggs that we don't even think about, or at least that I didn't. Also, I was used to getting a lot of my protein from cheese or just substituting or choosing cheese options. But now that I'm used to it, it's not really a big deal.

oh that sucks...the only time I got jury duty was the same month we were moving and I got out it cause we moved 100 miles away

I was able to get out of mine because I worked night shift. The judge asked if there was anything else. i raised my hand and said I felt i wouldnt be able to make the best judgement in a tired state. and i was freed!!

I think they're only picking certain people based on demographics. But, they also could be scamming all of your money. Who knows.

We get paid $17 for jury duty here each day. I take a cab to the train station and, pay for a train. Once off the train, I walk about 10 city blocks, which is kind of scary, because it is still dark in the morning. I buy my lunch (cash only, so I better be prepared). Rinse, repeat. It's a 10 hour day minimum. I believe it is my duty to serve; however, at this stage of my life, I believe I should be exempt, since I don't drive, and people, trains and crowds scare me. I could get a medical exemption, but I can't afford health insurance to pay for the doctor's appointment.

WOW! It's crap pay here. $40 per day (9am to 4pm)

Yeah, it sucks, but to clarify it's 8 hours of service and two hours of commuting.
