Our 'big' park in town, created a great play yard. Metal structures - and loads of beautifully colored blue tires, cut into tiny bits that add an incredible cushion under the entire play area. Which has to be safe, right? I mean, the fact that we're in the deep south and it's hotter than anything - and the fumes come up and off-gas all summer..........well, that's safe, isn't it?

yeah, the ground up tires is a bit questionable. As far as I know there haven't been any studies that conclusively show a health risk, but on the other hand there are damn few studies that completely rule out any health risks. Whether its safe or not, the thing that bothers me the most is knowing that kids are going to put that stuff in their mouths.
