A hairdresser friend told me it's because of some weird Sciency Thing about how it penetrates the hair shaft, and reds get in there deeper and hang on for dear life (and something about creating bigger molecules, but I've forgotten). When I dyed my hair blue-black, it faded to this (still cool) grayish black in no time at all. With hot pinks or reds, it seems to cling to the red that's already in my hair and take forever to go away.

And now I'm fighting the urge to dye my hair again after a four year hiatus..

Do it! Fun hair makes life better. I just redid mine indigo and purple this weekend and I'm so happy ^_^

I've been putting in apps at "normal jobs" lately so I'll have to wait. I do plan on going back to red soon enough, or maybe a true hot pink for once. (Last time I did hot pink, I literally schmooshed it together with Purple Haze in my hands and then ran it through my hair, so it was more a pink/purple swirl.)
