And yes, I think we probably will look into getting one more seriously after we move in August. Our future roommates just got a chocolate lab puppy and that's just going to make me want my own dog even more. And I've always wanted a Corgi. They just have so much personality (even though I've always been a big dog person).

And Murray's an awesome name! It is probably best not to adopt until you're more settled, so good thinking there. That'll also give you a chance to see what roomie's chocolate lab's temperament is like. (Probably doofy but smart, tail like a whip, and ridiculously sweet..but each dog is different.) That way you'll have a better idea of how a new pup would fit into the mix, and also a more realistic idea of how much work they can be.

Don't be afraid of shelter pups or corgi mixes, btw! My Brandi was a corgi/German Shepherd mix we rescued from the shelter when I was in middle school, and she is the second best dog I've ever known. (1. She was actually my little brother's, but considered herself mine. 2. The only dog better is my mom's golden that also prefers me and acts as my emotional support dog when I have to go over there, without being trained to do so. She just knows I need her and that goldens are my favorite, so she sleeps on my face and doesn't leave my side.) Plus, shelter pets need us most!
