so I was shopping at Wal Mart today, and since I know work there, I found myself scoping out all the workers (especially the cashiers ) to see who looked very unhappy. In fact the one cashier I had seemed very unpleasant. He didn't smile once while I was there. He must really hate his job or he was having a bad day. I've seen him there before and I've never seen him smile. Surprised he is still there.

and speaking of Walmart, my Saturday hours really suck, 9 - 6, 12 - 9, 10:30 - 7:30. Yuck. Good thing I'm only there twice a week and Friday's for four hours starting in two weeks

I feel like I'm one of the few people that actually kinda enjoyed my job at Walmart. I've had far worse retail jobs.

Walmart wasn't terrible to work for. I did a 6 month stint as a cashier last spring. Besides the 15 bosses to answer too (because apparently cashiers need 5 bosses per shift and every one wants you to do something different) it was pretty mindless. I'd go back, but eh.

As far as jobs being enjoyable, the job duties of most jobs I've ever had were fairly irrelevant compared to whoever you randomly end up getting stuck working with.

That's very true. I've had some pretty shit jobs, but I didn't mind them so much because I loved the people that I worked with. I worked at Walmart from 2008-2010. I still talk to a couple of the friends I've made. One of them moved away a few years ago but we still keep in touch

That's very true. I've had some pretty shit jobs, but I didn't mind them so much because I loved the people that I worked with. Though, I have had a couple jobs where even though I really enjoyed the people, the work and the company were just so terrible (Sears) that I couldn't force myself through it for very long.

I really like my Sentry job and working at the company, but when it gets slow (end of tax season) it gets kind of boring. I just don't like my two co workers I work with, I can tolerate them though. Sentry has terrific benefits. I get 5 weeks PTO time and 4 floating holidays, and 6 regular holiday.

I mainly worked in electronics, though I helped out as a front end cashier quite a lot. I thought it was a pretty cool place to be. If I wasn't on a checkstand, then I was in the electronics dept building displays and watching Disney movies.

electronics sounds like fun, but the guys that work in that dept don't seem to happy. My Assistant manager seems really nice and down to earth, he seems like a good guy to work for, he is the assistant to the cashiers and the front end CSM's.
