same about my 2010 mbp i usually turk on my work PC which is much faster. it's frustrating to work at home sometimes with my poor old macbook.

You do not need a $3500 computer if you're just using it for turking.

ssd isn't going to do anything at all for internet performance

There's no reason to pay 3k for a laptop. Go to your nearest retailer with a rock in hand, chuck it in the midst of all the laptop displays, and I guarantee you that it will hit something 200% better at a third of the price you're initially thinking.

There were some refurbished ones on sale for under 1k yesterday. I thought about tagging @Vanyanka but I don't want to encourage people to waste their money on those, even at that price. Just get a nice refurbished Dell for $600.

I will use it for more than just turking. I will use it for turking when I am sitting on the couch. I just need to replace the old one. I have a 5 series Quad i7 windows machine I bought thats in my studio for Turking only
