I used to make time capsules, too! I've sadly never had the chance to dig in the dirt, but I would love excavation so damn much.

I did a 3 month field school in Columbia, SC, which was awesome, but hot as hell. The site was the home and shop of recently-freed former slaves from Charleston. I worked on a couple shorter digs in SC/GA, mostly at Native American sites. Grueling work, but I miss it. I love getting dirty for science.
