My daughter did it one year. She was so excited when she signed up. All they ever did was sit around and color. The leader and her friends would sit on the other side of the room playing on their cell phones. We asked every meeting if we were ever going to do anything other than color and her response was always, "I don't know, this is my first year so I am still working on stuff." We never did anything. She even managed to mess up the orders for the cookies.

our leader was new at it as well. Experienced leaders probably make an incredible difference

Damn I missed out. I started this morning at 5AM PST with Zoltars, right in to Sergey till my wife finally made me get off the computer. We could've been rich!

That really sucks! :/ It was such a positive experience for me from when I was younger to when I was older and worked with younger girls. I don't ever remember sitting around and coloring when I was younger. We usually had some type of activity that was catered towards character building, teamwork, leadership, etc. Though, I guess a lot of it would hinge on the type of leader/s they have. If they're just doing it to "do it", then there probably isn't a lot of effort going into it.
