The burger kings up here are giving away a free hot dog today. I'm not going to drive 20 miles each way because I'm broke. So $3 in gas for one hot dog, I don't think so.

If anyone is grossed out by this, do yourself a favor and don't look up the FDA allowed amount of "defects" (foreign matter, including insects and rodent leavins) in food.

EVERYTHING is at least moderately disgusting. In terms of anything including insects/insect parts though, that's just more protein!

1) I don't know if that's actually how it is. Remember the "pink slime" fiasco?

2) Even if it is, it's for low-grade hot dogs only. Vienna Beef hot dogs are 75% ground beef, 25% brisket and pork belly. And I'd eat the shit out of those low-grade dogs. Might not want to denounce *specific* meat products unless you're fine with seeing how beef in general is gotten. That's the real horror show.

LOL That was kind of my point, that all food is pretty gross unless you source it yourself (and even then, there are things that will be gross about it). Hot dogs are gross if you spend too much time thinking about it, but they're tasty. They don't weird me out because I've eaten other "gross" tasty things like menudo, pigs feet, and fried chicken livers/gizzards.

Upon seeing that video -

1) Those are John Morrell dogs, just about the lowest grade you can get.

2) I'd still eat them. It all turns to paste in your mouth and stomach.

3) Let's all watch a How It's Made on general beef products - steaks, chops, hamburgers, etc. All comes from one place, and usually involves a bolt gun to the skull.
